Atlanta Falcons 2022 mock draft: 2nd pick

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Edge. South Carolina. Kingsley Enagbare. 2. player. 850

I think it’s fair to say that the Atlanta Falcons have almost absolutely no pass rush right now and haven’t for the past couple of seasons either. That’s not to say the Falcons haven’t tried addressing this issue as they have brought in multiple players through free agency and the draft as well.

The most notable player that the Falcons drafted to fix this issue was Vic Beasley. Beasley was drafted back with the 8th pick in the 2015 draft, and after his first two seasons in Atlanta, it seemed like the Falcons found their pass rusher of the future.

Things changed quickly though as his pass-rushing productivity took a bit of a dip, and Beasley wasn’t the same as he was during his first two seasons. Beasley has since spent time with the Titans and Raiders and now is a free agent.

It’s hard to even remember a time when the Falcons had a high-end pass rusher. Atlanta has had the likes of Tak McKinley, Adrian Clayborn, Brooks Reed, and other players who have had some solid pass rushing seasons for Atlanta, but never a high-quality edge rusher.

What makes things even worse for the Falcons is the fact they currently have almost no edge rushers. As of now, the likely current edge rushers for the Falcons would be Lorenzo Carter and Adetokunbo Ogundeji. No offense to either of them, but they certainly arent anything close to a decent pass-rushing duo, that’s where Kingsley Enagbare comes in.

Enagbare has some of the best hands in class, not only in terms of placement but in terms of strength as well, it’s just not easy to get a good shot on him. Enagbare had a decent combine as he showed he has come good arm length and good explosiveness.

While Enagbare has beaten up on some offensive tackles in college, he still has some work to do. Eenagbare needs to become more consistent and find other ways to beat offensive linemen.

Edge is a desperate need for the Atlanta Falcons, and while Enagbare might not be the greatest edge rusher in the world, he still would offer the Falcons help that they desperately need, plus with how bad the Falcons edge rushers are, they need everybody they can get.

Other Players Considered: Cameron Thomas, George Pickens, Jalen Pitre
