Kansas City Chiefs mock draft, pick 50: Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn

The Chiefs, as previously mentioned, have a hole or two at the cornerback position.

They lost starting outside corner Charvarius Ward who signed a big-money contract with the San Francisco 49ers.

They also recently just lost nickel corner Mike Hughes, who signed a free agent deal with the Detroit Lions.

Those losses amplify the need for the Chiefs to get someone that can pair up with L’Jarius Sneed, who has been an outstanding pickup for them.

Roger McCreary was outstanding in coverage for Auburn but posted pretty average metrics at the Auburn pro day with a slightly cringeworthy 31.5-inch vertical jump. Still, he’s a potential day one starter on the outside in the NFL so he’s a good value here.

Kansas City Chiefs mock draft, pick 62: Calvin Austin III, WR, Memphis

Although he’s small, Calvin Austin III packs a serious punch with his overall speed, explosiveness, and athleticism.

Austin’s leaping ability and quickness are evident when you watch him play, and the Kansas City Chiefs have proven they are a team that is not afraid to take on players of smaller stature that can fit into their offense.

Austin is a great fit to replace Hill’s speed in the Kansas City offense even if it’s only the threat of his vertical speed in the beginning.
