2022 NFL Mock Draft: Chiefs replace Tyreek Hill, Panthers land Pickett

7. New York Giants (via Chicago Bears): Travon Walker, EDGE, Georgia
There aren’t many players who have increased their stock as much as Travon Walker has since the 2021 NCAA Season ended. Walker was a great player for the Georgia Bulldogs but his freakish athleticism really stood out once he began his workouts.
Following a strong Scouting Combine and Pro Day with Georgia, he finds himself landing with the New York Giants, who use their second selection in the past three picks. New York now bolsters their defensive line — after adding Evan Neal at No. 5 to strengthen the offensive line — bringing in a player who could be the focal point of their pass rush.
8. Atlanta Falcons: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State
It’s hard to try and figure out what the Atlanta Falcons are doing. Like the Carolina Panthers, they struck out trying to land Deshaun Watson, even though it seemed as though they were the frontrunners for days. While courting Watson, they seemed to frustrate Matt Ryan, who is now in Indianapolis as the Colts landed him for a third-round pick.
Also like Carolina, they seemed to be a team that could go after Baker Mayfield but instead, they brought in Marcus Mariota. Now, their offense is set to feature Mariota, Kyle Pitts, and Cordarrelle Patterson. This means they need playmakers in the worst way.
Enter Garrett Wilson from Ohio State. Wilson is one of the best prospects at receiver in this class, which is saying something since this group is loaded. He also will get a ton of targets on a roster that has very little name recognition.
