NFL Mock draft picks 27 and 28

27. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. CB. Florida. 27. player. 840. Kaiir Elam

The Buccaneers are yet another team with a relatively complete roster. That said, adding another potential lock-down cornerback could do them a lot of good, especially when you consider how pass-happy the NFL is. While their starters should be set, Kaiir Elam would be a good fit in this defensive secondary.

Elam boasts great size and athleticism, but he needs to refine some of his skills in coverage in order to be a great starter. Having a season to play as a rotational starter in a secondary featuring similar-sized players. He would be in a good spot to develop into a capable starter here. This is a pairing that makes a lot of sense.

28. Green Bay Packers: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

Pick Analysis. WR. player. 844. Scouting Report. Arkansas. Treylon Burks. 28

The Packers are back on the clock, and now they opt to address their receiver needs. Treylon Burks has had a tough pre-draft process. Many expected him to test like an elite athlete, but he came in more at the average level. That said, he provides a unique skill set for a receiver. He is built in that Deebo Samuel mold of player.

Burks can play that hybrid receiver-runner role. In the slot, he can be that physical presence and a safety net for Aaron Rodgers. He can also play either of the outside spots as well. Add in the ability to line up as a runner, and Burks is a perfect addition for a modern offense. While he doesn’t have the elite speed that money hoped he would test with, he should still be a capable weapon for any offense.
