Biggest NFL contracts at the wide receiver position

Total Money: Davante Adams, Las Vegas Raiders (5 years, $140 million)

It was only a matter of time before Davante Adams put his name on the dotted line of a massive contract like this.

Most people just thought it would be as a member of the Green Bay Packers.

Especially after Aaron Rodgers signed his new contract to remain a member of the Packers, it was arguably the most shocking development of the 2022 offseason to learn that Adams was going to be leaving the back-to-back MVP for his old college teammate Derek Carr.

If it weren’t for Adams getting his deal, would Tyreek Hill still be a member of the Kansas City Chiefs?

Average annual value: Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins ($30M per year)

Highest guarantee: Tyreek Hill, Miami Dolphins ($72.2 million)

Speaking of Tyreek Hill, he saw the contract signed by Davante Adams and his agent — Drew Rosenhaus — told the Kansas City Chiefs to do better.

The Chiefs had drawn a line in the sand and instead decided to trade Hill to the Miami Dolphins, who happily paid Hill $30 million per season with a massive $72.2 million in total guarantees, more than any other receiver in league history.
