NFL Free Agency: Three best remaining moves
2. Brandin Cooks to the Cleveland Browns
Teams have reportedly been calling the Houston Texans about Brandin Cooks, which makes sense.
Cooks is set to enter his age-29 season, and the Texans are in a massive rebuild, so Houston would be smart to deal him for some additional draft capital.
Brandin Cooks is perhaps the most underrated and underappreciated player in the NFL.
Through his eight full seasons, he has six seasons of 1,000 yards, and perhaps most impressively put up over 1,000 yards in 2021, catching passes from Tyrod Taylor and Davis Mills.
Cooks was brought to Houston in 2020 to pair with Deshaun Watson, so there’s already chemistry there. Furthermore, the Browns currently do not have a legitimate deep ball threat or much of a WR2 at all.
Cooks can provide both. He doesn’t miss games and averages 67 receiving yards per game.
He’s a stud of a player and should be a Cleveland Brown. Making this trade gives the Browns yet another weapon and would help them separate themselves in the stacked AFC North.
