Miami Dolphins worst move in 2022 NFL Free Agency

The Cedrick Wilson deal

Poor Cedrick Wilson.

Just like everyone else, the Miami Dolphins were probably surprised to discover Tyreek Hill on the trade block.

It wasn’t long ago that rumors were swirling of the Chiefs and Hill making progress on a new deal before the Davante Adams trade and subsequent contract extension in Las Vegas.

That changed the Hill/Chiefs negotiations, and just like that, he became the highest-paid receiver in the NFL…by the Miami Dolphins.

Cedrick Wilson, who was coming off of a nice breakout season for the Dallas Cowboys in 2022, signed a three-year deal with the Dolphins worth over $22 million.

He probably thought he was getting an upgraded role on a full-time basis in Miami with Jaylen Waddle, but as things currently stand, he might not even be one of the top six options in the passing game including running backs.

It’s hard to fault the Dolphins for signing Wilson when, at one point, he actually was in their plans. Now, they are likely going to have to trade someone like DeVante Parker just to get a return on investment from Wilson.
