Tennessee Titans worst move in 2022 NFL Free Agency

Cutting WR Julio Jones

The Tennessee Titans are another team that, up to this point, has seemingly had a very good offseason.

They re-signed pass rusher Harold Landry.

They were able to trade virtually nothing to acquire Robert Woods.

They brought in Austin Hooper on a team-friendly, one-year deal.

The only complaint I have at this point is that they didn’t stick things out with Julio Jones, who they paid a pretty premium price to acquire.

It’s fair to wonder if Jones’ best days are firmly in the past, and I think they probably are, but the Titans traded a second-round pick to get this guy.

It cost the Titans a lot to get Jones both in terms of the financial commitment as well as the draft compensation going back to the Falcons. The Titans are without a second-round pick and now they don’t have Julio Jones, either.

I think it would have been worthwhile to stick it out for at least one more season to see if Jones could be of help as the Titans obviously view themselves as a contending team.
