NFL Free Agency 2022: The worst move made by all 32 teams
Atlanta Falcons worst move in 2022 NFL Free Agency
The whole quarterback debacle
If you’re looking for an early favorite to land the no. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, it’s probably the Atlanta Falcons.
This franchise is in flat-out disarray at the moment.
They traded Julio Jones last offseason. They followed that up by trading away Matt Ryan in 2022.
Ryan was traded after the Falcons failed to lure Deshaun Watson, and shortly after trading Ryan, the Falcons signed Marcus Mariota who will now be the team’s presumptive starter in 2022.
Will the Falcons go after a QB in this year’s class like Kenny Pickett, Malik Willis, Matt Corral, or someone else? Will they just ride with Mariota and take their chances again next year?
You can’t help but wonder if Atlanta is kicking themselves for not taking Justin Fields or Mac Jones last offseason and really expediting this whole process of rebuilding.
This team has no solution at the quarterback position, and the Calvin Ridley gambling suspension has this team’s wide receiver corps in an absolute shambles.
They lost one of their best defensive players — Foye Oluokun — to the Jaguars in free agency, and as of right now this looks like, overall, one of the worst rosters in the league.
