Denver Broncos worst move in 2022 NFL Free Agency

Choosing Randy Gregory over Von Miller, Chandler Jones

Ultimately, it feels like most Denver Broncos fans are happy with whatever moves general manager George Paton made after trading for Russell Wilson.

The Russell Wilson trade was the appetizer, main course, and dessert for the offseason. Everything else Paton has done is the equivalent of you getting to finish someone else’s dessert.

With that being said, it’s hard not to be greedy as NFL fans when your team has money to spend, and the top need outside of quarterback in Denver was clearly off the edge. It just so happens that two of the biggest free agents in the 2022 offseason were EDGE players, and both of them made plenty of sense for the Broncos.

Von Miller even speculated on social media whether or not his locker would still be available in Denver.

In the end, Paton and the Broncos opted to steal Randy Gregory away from the Dallas Cowboys, leaning on his strong tape and upside as a younger player compared to Jones and Miller.

Will that decision prove to haunt Paton or make him look like a genius?

Gregory also cost a bit less than either Jones or Miller, but you can’t help but wonder whether the Broncos will regret not signing one of those two guys come playoff time in 2022.
