Las Vegas Raiders worst move in 2022 NFL Free Agency

Letting both Quinton Jefferson and Solomon Thomas walk

Just like with the Denver Broncos, you’ll be hard-pressed to convince any Raiders fans that the team has done anything wrong in the 2022 offseason.

The addition of Davante Adams at the wide receiver position feels like a “missing piece” type of move by the Raiders, who have a new GM in Dave Ziegler and a new head coach in Josh McDaniels leading the charge.

Defensively, those two went out and used their Patriots connection to snag pass rusher Chandler Jones, who will pair with Maxx Crosby to give the Raiders what could be the most fearsome pass rush duo in the entire league.

Still, it hasn’t been a perfect offseason for the Raiders.

Given the struggles this team has had defensively, it was surprising to see the Raiders let go of both Quinton Jefferson and Solomon Thomas, who had really good seasons for them a year ago.

Those two combined for eight sacks, eight tackles for loss, and 28 QB hits last season and would have been really nice interior players to have with that stellar pass rush duo.

The Raiders definitely need to upgrade the run defense, and those two players offer more value in the pass rush department, but they signed very modest deals with other teams in free agency and it would have been great to see them back in Las Vegas for at least one more season.
