Los Angeles Rams worst move in 2022 NFL Free Agency

Letting Von Miller out the door

You can’t help but love the way Les Snead and Sean McVay work to build their roster year in and year out.

The Matthew Stafford trade in 2021 opened the floodgates for the Los Angeles Rams, and everything started clicking for this team on both sides of the ball.

They obviously became Super Bowl champions and now are on the path towards repeating, but do they have all the pieces in place?

They signed Bobby Wagner to be an enforcer in the middle of their defense, which is huge. They added Allen Robinson at wide receiver, which is also a lot of fun.

They re-signed Joe Noteboom to replace the retired Andrew Whitworth at left tackle, and have to address some other departures around the roster. No departure, however, stings more than the loss of Von Miller.

The Rams knew when they pulled off a trade for Von Miller that there would be a chance of him leaving in free agency.

They sent the 2nd-and-3rd-round picks to the Broncos anyway, and after winning the Super Bowl, I’m sure they’d do it again.

Still, would it have been wiser of the Rams to make Miller the top priority of their offseason as opposed to going out and getting Allen Robinson, replacing Robert Woods?

I think that’s a fair question to ask.

Miller was such a key piece of that Rams defensive run late in the season, and having him around for the next handful of years would have been great, but now the Rams will be back in the market for pass rush help one way or the other.
