Green Bay Packers worst move in 2022 NFL Free Agency

Trading WR Davante Adams

It’s not hard to pinpoint the worst move the Green Bay Packers made in the 2022 NFL Free Agency period.

Trading Davante Adams after all of the drama with Aaron Rodgers makes absolutely no sense, especially because the Packers have refused to draft and develop receivers in the early rounds in recent years.

There’s no one waiting in the wings. Even the guys the Packers did develop — Equanimeous St. Brown and Marquez Valdes-Scantling — bolted for the Chicago Bears and Kansas City Chiefs respectively.

Aaron Rodgers has yet to speak publicly since the Adams trade, and I wish we could have been a fly on the wall when the news came out that Adams was heading to Las Vegas.

Why would the Packers not have given Adams a big-money deal with the window they are in right now with Aaron Rodgers? Why would they not be more aggressive to bring back some of the other guys Rodgers has been throwing to?

There are some things GM Brian Gutekunst does very well, but the Davante Adams trade could go down as one of the more foolish moves he’ll ever make.
