The Green Bay Packers finally go after some wide receiver talent for Aaron Rodgers in the latest Packers-specific mock draft scenario.

It’s time for the Green Bay Packers to stop messing around and start investing high draft capital in the wide receiver position again.

The Packers have traded superstar wide receiver Davante Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders and also lost both Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown in free agency.

It’s shaping up to be a brand-new wide receiver group for Aaron Rodgers, who has yet to speak publicly since the trade involving Adams. I’m sure Rodgers was thrilled when he found out, but how could the Packers not have given him that information before agreeing to his record-setting extension?

They had to tell him, right?

Green Bay Packers must emphasize WR help in 2022 NFL Draft

In this four-round Green Bay Packers mock draft, we’re going to explore an idea in which the Packers absolutely load up at the receiver position. Not every selection will be used there, but the Packers need to get multiple starting-caliber options to replace the production they let walk out the door in 2022.

Here’s how GM Brian Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur could attack the position in the 2022 NFL Draft.

1st round, 22nd pick: Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas

After a slightly (perhaps more than just slightly) disappointing Scouting Combine performance, the general consensus is lower on Treylon Burks than it was going into the pre-draft process.

Because of the fact that Burks did not post elite metrics at the Combine, it’s possible that the Green Bay Packers could have an absolute steal on their hands.

There’s no denying Burks’ play speed regardless of how fast he timed on the track at the Combine. Ultimately, none of that will matter if and when Burks is making plays out on the field.

In the mold of a Deebo Samuel, Burks is a big-bodied wide receiver with outstanding versatility and playmaking ability in the open field. He can be utilized out of the backfield and is tremendous in space and after the catch.

Matt LaFleur has undoubtedly seen what his old pal in San Francisco has been doing with Deebo Samuel and wants to get in on that kind of action with another top prospect coming out of the SEC.
