Three notable NFL quarterbacks changed teams going into the 2022 season. What can we reasonably expect their success to look like for the upcoming season?

Going into the 2022 NFL offseason, many of us were expecting potential major quarterback movement.  While Aaron Rodgers ended up staying home, three other quarterbacks of note ended up changing teams.

Russell Wilson went from the Seattle Seahawks to the Denver Broncos, Deshaun Watson went from the Houston Texans to the Cleveland Browns, and Matt Ryan went from the Atlanta Falcons to the Indianapolis Colts.

The AFC is absolutely loaded.  There are over 10 teams who could clinch NFL playoff spots this upcoming season.

It’s leaving the NFC in the dust and is expected to be an ultra-competitive conference in 2022.

We’ve seen quarterbacks move teams and have immediate success before.  Tom Brady in his first year in Tampa Bay won the Super Bowl, and Matthew Stafford did the same in his first year in Los Angeles.

Now, we have three new quarterbacks to watch on their new clubs.

Being that they’re in the AFC, it’s reasonable to think that there will be several high-quality quarterbacks not in the AFC playoff picture come January.

While working through playing for a new team, coaching staff, and trying to develop chemistry, what can we reasonably expect from Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson, and Matt Ryan for individual and team success in 2022?

1. Russell Wilson, Denver Broncos

After a wildly successful ten years in Seattle, Russell Wilson finds himself on the Denver Broncos.

Even though Denver is in the loaded AFC West, it’s an easy argument to make that they have the strongest roster, as they are set to return the third-ranked scoring defense from 2021 and have an embarrassment of riches on the offensive side of the ball.

Between the defense, offensive line, and offensive skill players, I’m not sure Russell Wilson has had a better team.

Nathaniel Hackett was recently hired as the team’s head coach, and he was the offensive coordinator for the Green Bay Packers before that.

Being that Aaron Rodgers was lethal throwing the football, and being that Denver is going to have to compete with the other high-flying offenses in the AFC West, I think it’s safe to say that Denver is going to pass the ball.

They have the quarterback to do it and the offensive line to keep Wilson upright, and the weapons to create mayhem for opposing defenses.

The AFC West is loaded with quarterbacks, and Russell Wilson might be the best of the four. I do think Wilson is going to enjoy one of the best seasons of his career through the air.

Look for Denver to be a top ten offense at least and begin to rise to prominence once again.

Projection: 4,200 yards, 38 touchdowns, seven interceptions. ~300 rushing yards, 2 touchdowns. Broncos record: 12-5
