The Seattle Seahawks would only trade DK Metcalf for the right price. What kind of offers should they accept for the star receiver?

The Seattle Seahawks have been blowing things up in the 2022 NFL offseason and they have a chance to just completely reset the roster with one more trade. Would they be willing to trade star wide receiver DK Metcalf?

Only for the right price, apparently.

The way Mike Garafolo is reporting here makes it sound like the Seahawks would absolutely trade DK Metcalf as much as they like him and would like for him to be in their long-term plans.

The unfortunate reality? The wide receiver market has drastically changed.

The recent contracts given to Stefon Diggs, Davante Adams, and Tyreek Hill have drastically altered the way teams will have to move forward with their stud receivers. The top five receivers in the NFL in terms of average annual contract value are all making north of $20 million with the top four all over $26 million AAV.

The fact that Metcalf is entering a contract year could certainly motivate the Seahawks in a potential trade, but because they have the threat and option of the franchise tag, it keeps Metcalf’s value in a trade rather high.

In order to gauge what Metcalf could get the Seahawks in a trade, let’s take a look at what the Packers recently got for Davante Adams and what the Chiefs got for Tyreek Hill before they were sent to new teams.

Comparable offers to consider for DK Metcalf trade

Packers haul for Davante Adams

  • 22nd overall pick
  • 53rd overall pick

Chiefs haul for Tyreek Hill

  • 29th pick
  • 50th pick
  • 2022 4th-round pick
  • 2023 4th-round pick
  • 2023 6th-round pick

Metcalf may not be on the exact same level as these two players but there have already been reports that the Seahawks turned down the 10th overall pick from the Jets.

So what kind of offers would the Seahawks accept? In order to move on from a core player, they would need to be blown away. Here are three offers they should not turn down if presented.
