DK Metcalf trade offer no. 2: Philadelphia Eagles package

Philadelphia Eagles receive:

  • WR DK Metcalf

Seattle Seahawks receive:

  • 2023 1st-round pick
  • 83rd pick
  • 101st pick

This kind of trade proposal would perhaps confuse Seahawks fans looking for instant gratification from a DK Metcalf trade, but for Seattle to add a third first-round pick to its 2023 arsenal might be ultimately what seals the deal in a trade for them.

They could add a condition to this trade to get the higher of the Eagles’ pair of first-round picks in 2023, which now includes a selection from the New Orleans Saints who struck a blockbuster deal with the Eagles earlier this week.

To get the 83rd and 101st picks in this year’s draft might seem inconsequential but those are selections that could really add depth to this roster and many pundits feel like the true strength of this draft will be in the depth and middle rounds.

Again, the key piece going back to the Seahawks here for DK Metcalf would be a 2023 first-round pick, giving Seattle their own pick, Denver’s pick, and one of Philadelphia’s selections as well.

Are the Eagles desperate enough for a receiver to do this trade?

Why not?

This kind of deal would not only get the Eagles a playmaker like DK Metcalf to pair up with DeVonta Smith, but it would also not really make a difference with their primary draft picks. They still have multiple first-rounders in 2022, and they still have a first-rounder in 2023.
