AFC North pre-2022 NFL Draft roster grades

4. Cleveland Browns – C+

I wasn’t sure what grade to give the Browns. Let’s start with the non-Deshaun Watson moves.

They traded for Amari Cooper for a bag of Doritos and a dusty copy of Pokemon Emerald, which was a steal, even with his salary.

They also added speedster Jakeem Grant, Ethan Pocic to presumably replace JC Tretter, and brought back David Njoku, among a few other moves.

The Browns didn’t make a ton of headlines in their non-Watson moves, which can be a good or bad thing.  I think for General Manager Andrew Berry and the Browns, it’s a good thing.  Cleveland doesn’t have many holes at all and has the most talented roster in the AFC North, which is a substantial accomplishment.

Between their offensive line, running backs, and talent on all levels of the defense, the Browns should win a ton of games.

The Deshaun Watson move was controversial, at best, especially handing him a fully guaranteed contract.

However, Watson is uber-talented and will elevate this offense.

It’s unknown whether or not the league will suspend Watson, but they seemed to have prepared for that with the addition of Jacoby Brissett, who could help this team win games in the event of a Watson suspension.

Overall, though, the Browns got much better as a team and are my early favorite to win the AFC North.
