23. Arizona Cardinals: Trent McDuffie, CB, Washington

If the Arizona Cardinals and quarterback Kyler Murray can’t get things figured out, they too could make a blockbuster trade. However, in this mock, they haven’t hit the panic button yet as they try and figure things out with their No. 1 pick in 2019.

With that being said, they turn their attention to the defensive side of the ball and land Trent McDuffie from Washington. Right now, the Cards have some talent in their defensive backfield but McDuffie is a player who can be the glue to bring them all together.

He’s considered a coach on the field and could quickly help this unit band together.

Texas AM. DeMarvin Leal. player. 123. Scouting Report. DT. 24. Pick Analysis

24. Dallas Cowboys: DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M

There’s a real chance the Dallas Cowboys could go with a wide receiver here but they shouldn’t. Yes, they traded away Amari Cooper but to replace him with a first-round pick would feel like they admitted a huge mistake. You don’t trade an elite player for such little return unless you believe in the guys you already have — using a Round 1 pick means you’re filling a self-created hole.

Jerry Jones also says the Cowboys might trade up — which means they won’t. He’s been telling us for years what they will do in the draft and despite being mad when they didn’t take Johnny Manziel or Paxton Lynch, many still believe he’s the GM — which he clearly is not.

All that being said, Jerry will pound the table for a splash player while Stephen Jones and Will McClay target someone such as DeMarvin Leal from Texas A&M. Leal is a versatile defender who can play inside as a 3-tech and on the edge. Dallas needs talent on the defensive line and they add someone who can fill a lot of roles here.
