2022 NFL Mock Draft: Projected trade between New York teams

Trade: New York Jets send picks No. 10 and No. 38 to the New York Giants for Pick No. 7

7. New York Jets (via Chicago Bears through New York Giants): Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame

The worst thing about the NFL Scouting Combine and Pro Day workouts is that some can look to them and use them as an ultimate source of judgment on a player — disregarding years of film in the process.

That’s what’s happening right now with Kyle Hamilton of Notre Dame who is apparently being questioned more than he should be. With him now on the board at No. 7, the Jets decide to move up from No. 10 and they use the No. 38 pick in Round 2 to do so.

Now, they add one of the best defenders in the draft and still have two more picks in Round 1 thanks to our earlier trade prediction. As if that doesn’t feel like enough of a win, Hamilton very well could have been their choice had they stayed put with their first pick.

8. Atlanta Falcons: Garrett Wilson, WR, Ohio State

It’s hard to find a team that needs wide receiver help more than the Atlanta Falcons do right now. With Calvin Ridley being suspended for the season, they’re down to Olamide Zaccheaus as their most experienced receiver.

That makes this an easy choice as they bring in Garrett Wilson from Ohio State. Pairing him with tight end Kyle Pitts could make sure they at least stay competitive in the receiving department this season.
