The Philadelphia Eagles are on the clock in the 2022 NFL Draft and they need to improve if Jalen Hurts has a chance to take the next step as a quarterback.

The 2022 NFL season is a make-or-break season for the Jalen Hurts as the Philadelphia Eagles quarterback. The second-year pro has to show improvement — the 2022 NFL Draft can help. If not, the Eagles have enough ammunition to move up in the 2023 NFL Draft.

In case you missed it, the Eagles and Saints made a trade that set the Eagles up for the future.

The Eagles traded the No. 16 and No. 19 and a sixth-rounder for the 18th, 101st (third round), and 237th (seventh round) pick. They received a first-round pick next year and a second-rounder in 2024. They now have the 15th and 18th picks plus the Saints’ third-round pick (101).

With two picks in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft and three picks on Day 2 — the Eagles have enough to build around Hurts this season.

They have holes in the secondary, at linebacker, and they can stand to add another wide receiver. The NFC East is ripe for the taking. With a good offensive line and great running game, the Eagles have a shot to improve — with the right picks.
