Third-round pick: Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia

Tight end isn’t one of the Eagles’ glaring needs, but the talent in this draft is too good to pass up. They have Dallas Goedert, who had a career year in 2021 in yards with 830. However, the Eagles are a team that uses heavy 12-personnel sets.

Hurts could use a 6-7 tight end with excellent length who does a great job high-pointing passes. With the ball, he’s tenacious after the catch, and he’s an effective blocker. The 280-pound tight end showed off his athleticism with a 4.6 40-yard dash and 36-inch vertical leap.

He’ll hear his name on Day 2 —it should be the Eagles who draft him.

Fourth-round pick: Jerome Ford, RB, Cincinnati

Miles Sanders had a disappointing 2022 season, to say the least. The former second-round pick had career lows in attempts, yards, and touchdowns (0).

The Eagles need to upgrade the running back room. Jerome Ford is a physical runner who’ll set the tone for the offense. The 220-pound back runs with a low pad level and looks to deliver punishment.

On third-downs, he’s shown soft hands and willingness to pass protect. He’s deceptively evasive with good enough speed for long runs. Most importantly, he has a nose for the end zone. He’ll come in right away and improve the Eagles’ running game as the bell-cow.
