Denver Broncos mock draft, pick 75: Nik Bonitto, EDGE, Oklahoma

Look at that, no harm done.

Most Denver Broncos mock drafts you read these days involve Nik Bonitto in some way, shape, or form.

His inclusion in Broncos mock drafts makes a lot of sense.

The Broncos need pass rush depth, and potentially a year one starter in case one of Randy Gregory or Bradley Chubb deals with an injury.

Bonitto is not ready for full-time edge duties yet, but thankfully, the Broncos also have Malik Reed back this season, Jonathon Cooper coming in for year two, as well as Baron Browning making the position switch from off-ball linebacker to pass rusher.

The team also likes young players like Andre Mintze and Aaron Patrick.

I think Bonitto would have no issues beating some of those guys for spots in the rotation, and pass rush depth is always atop every NFL team’s priority list.

As we saw in the Super Bowl, a great pass rush can make all the difference.

And getting pressure on the quarterback is what Nik Bonitto does best.

Although he also led the Sooners in tackles for loss, Bonitto had one of the best pressure rates in all of college football last season and he’s been one of the most productive pass rushers in general over the last couple of years.
