Denver Broncos mock draft, pick 96: Channing Tindall, LB, Georgia

We know that George Paton wants to get faster as a team and that team speed is on his radar.

For the second time in the first three selections of this mock draft, Paton goes after a prospect from this year’s outstanding Georgia Bulldogs roster.

Channing Tindall is expected to go at some point on day two of the 2022 NFL Draft, potentially much earlier than this, but he was available in the simulation and I wasn’t about to pass the opportunity up in case this scenario actually presents itself.

Paton has heavily prioritized high RAS players and Tindall would be no different.

With Baron Browning making the move to the EDGE, even if he floats between inside linebacker and edge rusher, a player like Tindall or another athletic off-ball linebacker in the first three picks makes sense for the Broncos.

Tindall has excellent range and playmaking ability at the position and he hits with a purpose.

He needs some improvement and refinement in coverage, but this is a guy worth betting on with his raw athletic talent.

With Tindall in the fold, the Broncos would have an intriguing potential group at the off-ball linebacker position with promising trade acquisition Jonas Griffith back for another year along with Josey Jewell and Alex Singleton.
