3. Kansas City Chiefs should sign Jason Pierre-Paul

How about a reunion?  Jason Pierre-Paul is a free agent.  He’s spent the past four seasons with the Buccaneers, where he accumulated 33 sacks.

That’s 8.25 sacks per season since joining them.  Seeing as he’s still a free agent, perhaps the Buccaneers want to go in a different direction.

JPP signing with the Chiefs makes a ton of sense for a couple of reasons.

First, the Chiefs’ defense needs a ton of work.  It’s not good on paper, at all, especially with their pass rushers.

They don’t have a ton of legitimate pass rushers on the outside, and Pierre-Paul would be able to come into a situation where he’d see a ton of snaps.

Secondly, the Chiefs’ defensive coordinator, Steve Spagnuolo, was the New York Giants’ defensive coordinator from 2015-2017, where JPP spent the first chunk of his career.

It’s a logical landing spot.  The Chiefs need pass rush help badly, and JPP still has some gas left in the tank.

He wouldn’t be expensive, so the Chiefs wouldn’t have to re-work their cap in a fancy way to make it happen.

I actually like this the more I think about it.
