Could the New York Jets gain enough of Deebo Samuel’s interest?

Landing a downfield threat has been a goal of the Jets’ front office since the beginning of the off-season. After placing runner up in the Tyreek Hill bidding, owner Woody Johnson has been keeping an eye out for any talent available.

Head Coach Robert Saleh understands that he will need to position his team in the best position possible – starting with adding talent to the roster.

Acquiring a dependable receiver would help quarterback Zach Wilson develop in his second year in the league. Wilson struggled to produce in 2021, finishing the season with a 9:11 touchdown to interception ratio.

Deciding to venture to New York will be a decision that Samuels might have to ponder. Although the Jets would love to welcome him into their organization, Deebo must be sure that the Jets can win games in the foreseeable future.

New York’s 4-13 finish to the 2021 season is not as appealing as the records as other bidders, but if Deebo Samuels wants out from San Francisco the Jets are willing to make the call.
