Dallas Cowboys mock draft Round 4 Pick: Jalen Wydermyer, TE, Texas A&M

Dalton Schultz broke out for the Cowboys in 2020 and then took another step forward in 2021, hauling in 78 receptions for 808 yards with eight touchdowns. This led to him being hit with the franchise tag while they work on a long-term deal.

With Schultz still on the roster, they have their starting tight end but Blake Jarwin is out following another injury that led to his release. With an open spot for the reserve tight end role, the Cowboys add Texas A&M’s Jalen Wydermyer.

Listed at 6-4 and 255-pounds, Wydermyer was a playmaker for the Aggies but poor testing hurt his stock. He’s still worth a day three pick as Dallas adds much-needed depth to the position.

Dallas Cowboys mock draft Round 5 Pick: Bo Melton, WR, Rutgers

Wide receiver is more of a need this year than in the past couple of drafts since Amari Cooper was traded and Cedrick Wilson signed with the Miami Dolphins. Dallas has also looked at some of the big names who will be in the draft, visiting with Drake London and Treylon Burks.

But when they went guard in Round 1, they elected to wait on a wideout which lands them Bo Melton from Rutgers. A speedster who ripped off a 4.34 in the 40-yard dash as well as a 38-inch vertical and 121-inch broad jump, Melton had 2,176 yards from scrimmage and was a factor in the return game as well.

Waiting until this late to add a receiver means the Cowboys would be betting on James Washington, Noah Brown, and Simi Fehoko to become the No. 3 guy but Melton could become a nice gadget player with special teams ability as well.
