How will AFC teams approach the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft?

Kansas City Chiefs (Picks #29 & #30)

The Chiefs just lost their best weapon in Tyreek Hill to the Dolphins, so at either pick 29 or 30, I have to think the conversation in KC is going to be around drafting a replacement for Hill.

I’ll be very surprised if Chris Olave, Drake London, or Treylon Burks are available at this point, so I see this window as a pretty good spot to land on a George Pickens, Jahan Dotson, Christian Watson, or David Bell if the Chiefs decide to keep the picks…since we all know they’re in the hunt for Deebo Samuel.

One of the two picks should be a wideout, but the other doesn’t necessarily have to be. I like these two spots to potentially reload the linebacking core and take either Devin Lloyd if he’s still available, or Nakobe Dean if he’s the best still on the board.

It’s no secret this defense constantly needs upgrades. The Chiefs allowed 117.6 rushing yards a game in 2021. I don’t know if the addition of Jermaine Carter fixes that.

And I’ll also throw in an edge rusher and corner if the right guys are there. I could see a George Karlaftis or Andrew Booth pickup in either of these two spots. Perhaps a sleeper in Arnold Ebiketie could be a nice little steal as well.
