2022 NFL Draft Trend #6: How many picks you got? A lot!

Eight teams are coming into the first round with two picks inside the first 32 selections. In what has been the nuttiest offseason we’ve ever seen, the 2022 NFL Draft could be just as wild to cap it.

The Jets, Giants, Texans, Lions, Saints, Eagles, Packers, and Chiefs, all have two picks to start the round. The Jets and Giants may control it all, though, as they each pick twice inside the top 10.

Some teams may stand pat I’m sure, but expect some to move up, or even move back. The problem with a class like this is there’s not as much urgency to move up for a QB in the top 10, let alone for a top-10 pick, seeing as teams have shared that there’s only a handful of blue-chip prospects here.

I also think the disgruntled player factor is key here, particularly with the wide receivers. Deebo Samuel, A.J. Brown, and Terry McLaurin have all shared displeasure about their contract situations in one way or another.

Will their respective teams continue to play chicken, will they pay them, or do they ultimately get moved? We shall see soon.

But that’s the beauty of the draft; it puts pressure on teams to make moves by using their draft capital when a player is looking to move on.

The 2022 NFL Draft is shaping up to be a unique one. Now let’s sit back and enjoy the fun — or madness — to come.
