Dallas Cowboys trade-up target No. 2: Chris Olave, WR, Ohio State

Another player who would be a good fit in Dallas, that could fall into the late teens or early 20s in the 2022 NFL Draft, is Ohio State wide receiver Chris Olave.

The Cowboys have been heavily criticized for trading away Amari Cooper for next to nothing this offseason, and while making a move up in the draft to replace a self-created hole would bring more criticism, it could also be a great move.

Olave can be described with one word — smooth. And while he’s nowhere close to being compared to Cooper yet, that’s the same way Amari would be described. Olave never topped the 1,000-yard mark for Ohio State but he did have a sensational season in 2020 where he put up 729 yards and seven touchdowns in just seven games.

His final season in Colombus saw him bring in 65 receptions for 936 yards and 13 touchdowns as he played his role perfectly as the No. 3 guy with Garrett Wilson doing his thing and Jaxon Smith‑Njigba breaking out in 2021.

The fact that he shared the field so well with Smith‑Njigba and Wilson will only help in Dallas where they already have CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup.

For Dallas, it would also help alleviate the loss of not only Cooper but Cedrick Wilson as they hope to continue to be one of the better passing attacks in the NFL.
