After a season marred by inconsistency and injuries, the Baltimore Ravens hope that the selection of Kyle Hamilton can help them return to their successful roots.

Considered one of the model franchises of success in the NFL, the Baltimore Ravens hit a roadblock last season with several injuries.

As such, Charm City has an opportunity to pick early in this year’s draft, at No.14. While Eric DeCosta is the one who holds the title of general manager, it’s Ozzie Newsome who still has fingerprints on this team and is looking to adhere to Ravens’ principles.

Those traits are intelligent, fast, and tough players. It goes for all three phases. As such, it’s no surprise that Baltimore took Kyle Hamilton with their selection; he fits that criteria and dons the black and purple with an impressive college resume.

Kyle Hamilton will look to make an impact in Baltimore and continue the great legacy of Baltimore Ravens defenders.

It was reported right after Hamilton was drafted that Baltimore traded wide receiver Hollywood Brown to the Arizona Cardinals for the right to move back up into the first round, but that’s another story behind the kind of player Hamilton is.

A rangy safety, Hamilton was a playmaker at South Bend, and the Ravens are fortunate to have him on the board and stick to their roots of making moves only when necessary. Props to Eric DeCosta and Ozzie Newsome for this selection.

They did not have to move up for him, and they landed a player with a Top 10-value at 14.

The Ravens have a history of producing quality defenders, and Hamilton has the physical traits and tools to be a dominant safety at the next level.

Playing in Baltimore may sound like pressure, but Hamilton has the mental capacity to thrive, and the Ravens should be pleased with this move.
