The Green Bay Packers finally give Aaron Rodgers some receiver help in this 2022 NFL mock draft scenario

I think it’s more than fair to say that the Green Bay Packers have had one of the most dramatic calendar years in the NFL. Almost a year ago to this point, the news broke of Aaron Rodgers being unhappy with the Packers organization.

The main thing that Rodgers seemed to be unhappy about was how the Packers’ front office treated their players.

The Packers did try amending things with Rodgers by bringing back one of his very good friends, Randell Cobb. Cobb was added alongside some other pieces to the Packers roster in hopes of helping bolster this unit.

Green Bay had a quality regular season, to say the least as they won the NFC North with a 13-4 record. Green Bay also managed to have the best record in the NFC as well which landed them a home-field playoff game.

After wildcard weekend, the Packers found themselves playing against the San Francisco 49ers. Shockingly, the 49ers managed to win against the Packers after multiple special teams blunders by Green Bay with a final score of 13-10.

Rodgers and company were devastated as Aaron left the field somberly, with his willingness and commitment to stay with Green Bay still up in the air.

Rodgers’s decision took some time and news eventually broke that Rodgers signed a big new contract with the Packers to remain in Green Bay for the time being. While Rodgers was staying in Titletown, one Packers player ended up heading out the door.

While the drama between Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers was at the forefront of the NFL drama, the negotiations between Davante Adams and the Packers were just as hot. Not too long after the Rodgers signing, the Packers traded Adams to the Las Vegas Raiders for a 1st and 2nd round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

It was clear Adams wanted out of Green Bay, wanted to go to Las Vegas, and wanted a big new contract.

With Adams now out of Green Bay, the Packers have a glaring weakness at receiver. Green Bay has tried to somewhat mend this with the signing of Sammy Watkins to a one-year deal, but Watkins is at best a 2nd or 3rd receiver on a team, not a lead one, especially not a lead one on a team with this poor of receivers.

While Packer fans have some reason to worry, the one thing that will make them very happy is the fact that the Packers have plenty of picks to work within the upcoming NFL draft. Heading into the draft, the Packers currently have 11 draft picks.

One thing that also is a positive for the Packers is the fact that they have been linked to Raider’s tight end, Darren Waller, and have had some light rumors linked them to Deebo Samuel.

This mock draft will be what I think the Packers should do, as opposed to what I think they will do. I will also be using the NFL Mock Draft Database’s Draft Simulator in order to simulate the craziness and wildness of the NFL Draft.
