Armed with two first-round picks, the Philadelphia Eagles use their first on Jordan Davis, intending to find a long-term starter and future Pro Bowler.

At one point, the Philadelphia Eagles had the luxury of having three first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft before trading with the Saints. Thanks to the move, Philadelphia not only has two first-rounders this year but two next year.

It is quite apparent that this move was made for New Orleans to shake up the board potentially, but the Eagles have that ability. This year’s crop is a deep class, and it may not be over for Howie Roseman in terms of moving up and down the board. And he does by trading with the Texans.

So, with their first pick, the Eagles come out to the stage and announce the selection of Jordan Davis with the 13th overall pick. It’s not exactly a flashy pick, but given his credentials, there is a strong chance that Philly went in the right direction, but time will tell if this investment returns a profit.

Jordan Davis will look to be an intimidating presence in the middle of the field for the Philadelphia Eagles.

There is a reason that the Georgia Bulldogs were the top-ranked defense in college football, and Jordan Davis has a lot to do with it. He will now look to bring that kind of energy to the Philadelphia Eagles.

Additionally, it continues to be a trend of how Roseman values defensive linemen, and frankly, it’s a good obsession to have when the team is winning. Plus, the NFC East is often predicated on line play, so the Eagles chose to move quickly and wisely.

Philadelphia got a massive player with a minor trade up the board. The investment has been made, but will profit return as a result? You can only fly, watch, and see the impact.
