23. Buffalo Bills: Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida

Pick Analysis. Florida. Kaiir Elam. 23. 16. Scouting Report. CB. player

Grade: B

After the complete embarrassment that was the late-game collapse against the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s playoffs, is it a surprise to anyone that the Buffalo Bills have invested the majority of their top assets this offseason in affecting opposing QBs?

The secondary, in particular, was not good enough as the Chiefs marched down the field to tie the game with only 13 seconds remaining in regulation before immediately getting downfield for a touchdown in overtime.

Kaiir Elam will not single-handedly solve the Bills’ issues in the secondary but he’s a freaky athlete with huge upside who could wind up a long-term outside corner for them.

24. Dallas Cowboys: Tyler Smith, OL, Tulsa

player. 123. Scouting Report. OL. Tulsa. 24. Pick Analysis. Tyler Smith

Grade: B

The Dallas Cowboys offensive line struggled with penalties last season, so they brought in a guy who was oft-penalized in college.

Smith committed 16 infractions last season at Tulsa, including being called for holding a whopping 12 times.

That speaks to exactly why most people felt he was a better fit in round two but the Cowboys sometimes decide to kill needs with fire.

They had a need at left guard, and Smith projects well there at the next level.

The Cowboys need to coach this kid up but he has the potential to be solid over the long term if he can clean up his technique and cut down on the penalties.
