Which three teams should be prioritizing Liberty quarterback Malik Willis in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft? We look through some landing spots.

The fifth-year option is no longer on the table, but some NFL team needs to make the wise move and get Liberty quarterback Malik Willis off the board.

The first round of the 2022 NFL Draft is in the books and Willis didn’t hear his name called, which was at least somewhat surprising.

Opinions on Willis varied, but in the end, the NFL determined that he was too much of a project to use a first-round selection on. That doesn’t mean he’s not a very tempting option early on in the second round for a number of teams.

Malik Willis can still find a home early on day two of the 2022 NFL Draft

1. Tennessee Titans

After the shenanigans the Titans pulled in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, who knows what to expect for day two?

There were some rumors that Tennessee could be interested in a first-round quarterback, but they ultimately traded out completely after making the AJ Brown deal at pick 18 where they selected Treylon Burks.

After sending the 26th pick to the Jets, who selected Jermaine Johnson, the Titans now own the 35th overall pick, the third selection overall on day two of the 2022 NFL Draft.

This could be a great landing spot for Malik Willis.

The Titans don’t seem married to the idea of Ryan Tannehill for the long haul and a dynamic player like Willis could sit for a year and perhaps contribute in certain packages like we saw from Trey Lance with the 49ers last year.

Willis may be a project in need of some development, but the traits are undoubtedly there.

Plus, the primary job of the quarterback in Tennessee is to hand the ball off to Derrick Henry.

Having Willis under center with Henry would potentially create some nightmares for opposing defenses having to face the Titans.
