The Baltimore Ravens once again stuck to their roots and added one of the best players in the draft in Iowa’s Tyler Linderbaum, with the 25th overall pick.

Leave it to the Baltimore Ravens to be the one to take Tyler Linderbaum in the 2022 NFL Draft; it’s practically what many expected them to do. Also, it makes the most sense, given what the franchise needs on their line.

Outside of Ronnie Stanley, the entire line needs a youth makeover. Sure, having Ben Powers at left guard is good, but the center position required an upgrade, and that is where Linderbaum comes into play.

He can jump in Day One and fit the scheme that Baltimore wants to run.

Pairing Linderbaum with Kyle Hamilton is the recipe for a successful first draft day. Sure, trading Hollywood Brown to the Cardinals is a big blow, but it is possible that the Ravens could draft another receiver later in the draft to supplement the loss.

The Baltimore Ravens got two of the draft’s best players in Kyle Hamilton and now Tyler Linderbaum.

At Iowa, Linderbaum flashed several traits that remind folks of former Ravens guard Marshall Yanda, who coincidentally went to Iowa. Linderbaum was also a team captain, a unanimous All-American, and a Rimington Trophy winner. Not bad.

Moreover, this selection is a testament to how good of a duo Eric DeCosta and Ozzie Newsome is, simply sticking to their roots and following through on their principles. Their record speaks for itself as to the ability to land two highly ranked prospects in the same round.

Is this an indication that both will end up being the best at their position in the NFL sometime down the road? That depends on how they translate. The good news is that several positive traits point toward an upward trajectory.
