After another playoff disappointment, the Green Bay Packers hope that taking Quay Walker No.22 overall can help them finally overcome their postseason woes.

Davante Adams is in Vegas, and the Green Bay Packers are on the clock, all for the price of a 1st and 2nd round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.  The decision by the folks in Wisconsin to move the All-Pro receiver still has us scratching our heads.

So that begs the question, how will you replace Adams? Keep in mind Marquez Valdes-Scantling is in Kansas City, and Allen Lazard, while talented, can’t fill the shoes by himself. In other words, the Pack needs a pass-catcher.

Thankfully, this draft is filled with receivers that have the potential to thrive in the league. However, the Packers choose to go with Quay Walker. A bit perplexing but understandable.

Green Bay does have additional capital to pick a receiver, so all hope is not lost for the Green and Gold Gang, who are clamoring for one.

The Green Bay Packers add strength to their linebacker core with the selection of Quay Walker.

Last season, while enjoying the benefits of winning a national championship, Quay Walker demonstrated sideline to sideline tackling ability while showing off a level of speed that the Packers desperately need from their linebackers.

A 4.52 40-yard dash indeed equates to that. Walker had 65 total tackles, 5.5 for losses, and three pass deflections in his last season. There is a strong possibility that he gets inserted into the starting lineup almost immediately as the Packers’ defense needs more speed.

Bringing in championship experience as a college athlete to a professional organization never hurts. Also, having played in the SEC, Quay Walker has seen his fair share of physical football.

The NFL is much tougher, but if you have some sort of pro-style game experience, then the transition is much less stressful.
