Entering the NFL Draft with just six picks, Chicago Bears general manager Ryan Poles pulled off four trades to end up making 11 picks.

Chicago Bears Nation had their eyes set on general manager Ryan Poles. After working as a cog in the Kansas City organization and helping them become the powerhouse they are today, he got to run a draft as the head guy for once.

Even though he was still part of a group, he had the final say on every move.

Poles and the Bears entered the draft with just six overall picks and none in the first round. Many draft experts expected him to make some deals to add to that total.

Well, he certainly did that. He pulled the trigger on four trades that added five picks. When the smoke cleared, the Bears finished with 11 total picks.

While the trades were expected, many expected Poles to use one of his two second-round picks as trade bait. He had the 39th and 48th overall picks and could have gotten some good picks in return for one of them.

Instead, he used those two picks. He also had the 71st overall pick (third round) that he used instead of trading.

In all, Poles picked up four offensive linemen, three defensive backs, a wide receiver, a running back, an edge rusher, and a punter.

Fans and experts alike clamored for offensive linemen and Poles picked them up. How good they’ll become is the question.

Let’s take a look at all of the Chicago Bears’ picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.
