Punter — Trenton Gill, 7th Round, #255

The Chicago Bears picked up consecutive picks in the seventh round by giving back the 2023 sith-round pick in the Khalil Mack trade. With their final pick, the Bears selected Trenton Gill, a punter. He walked on at North Carolina State and became a three-year starter there.

The Bears decided to take a flyer on a punter. They allowed Pat O’Donnell to walk via free agency and that might cost them.

They signed Ryan Winslow, but he’s now playing on his sixth team since 2019. Furthermore, he’s only had four punts total in that time.

Gill has an average leg. He had trouble trying to pin his punts inside the twenty but improved as he progressed and used the drop-nosed method of punting.

Let’s see how much he improved. He’ll battle Winslow for the job.

However, since neither player has much of a leg, there could be a veteran punter who comes in and joins the battle.
