Indianapolis Colts 2022 NFL Draft grade: B+

53. Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
73. Jelani Woods, TE, Virginia
77. Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
96. Nick Cross, S, Maryland
159. Eric Johnson, DL, Missouri State
192. Andrew Ogletree, TE, Youngstown State
216. Curtis Brooks, DL, Cincinnati
239. Rodney Thomas II, DB, Yale

Once again, the trade of a quarterback will factor into a team’s overall NFL Draft grade, this time for the Indianapolis Colts with Matt Ryan.

The Colts got Ryan for basically pennies on the dollar, so I love the trade for them and it’s a worthwhile risk to take for a roster that has proven itself to be playoff-caliber.

With their top pick, the Colts took ascending prospect Alec Pierce out of Cincinnati, another big body at the position with vertical speed.

They also got one of the most impressive athletes in this draft with Jelani Woods, a converted quarterback who can stretch the field as a tight end.

My favorite pick in this class for the Colts is Bernhard Raimann at pick 77 overall. He is probably going to step into the starting left tackle role for them from day one.

The Colts traded up for athletic safety prospect Nick Cross and as such, he will be expected to play a big role early on as well.

On day three, I really like some of the small-school prospects like Eric Johnson out of Missouri State, a player who ran extremely well at over 6-foot-4, 299 pounds.

Andrew Ogletree is a big, strong dude at the tight end position with underrated explosiveness.

Rodney Thomas had an insane 41-inch vertical jump in the pre-draft process.
