Los Angeles Chargers 2022 NFL Draft grade: B

17. Zion Johnson, OL, Boston College
79. JT Woods, DB, Baylor
123. Isaiah Spiller, RB, Texas A&M
160. Otito Ogbonnia, DL, UCLA
195. Jamaree Salyer, OG, Georgia
214. Ja’Sir Taylor, CB, Wake Forest
236. Deane Leonard, CB, Mississippi
260. Zander Horvath, FB, Purdue

The Los Angeles Chargers knew they had to upgrade the offensive line in the 2022 NFL Draft after Justin Herbert traveled home from the team’s disappointing regular season finale with a completely green uniform.

Zion Johnson will slide right into the lineup next to Rashawn Slater and give the Chargers a mauling duo of young linemen to dominate on the left side for years to come.

JT Woods is a versatile defensive back out of Baylor who will add yet another dynamic to Brandon Staley’s revamped defense. He had nine interceptions over the last two years and ran a 4.36 in the pre-draft process.

At pick number 123 overall, I don’t know that you could have gotten a much better value than Isaiah Spiller. He’s got three-down abilities and should have a substantial role in the Chargers’ offense right away.

Otito Ogbonnia and Jamaree Salyer are going to upgrade the trenches on both sides of the ball for the Chargers right away and I like that the Chargers added even more depth to the secondary in Ja’Sir Taylor and Deane Leonard later on.
