Buffalo Bills 2022 NFL Draft grade: B

23. Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida
63. James Cook, RB, Georgia
89. Terrel Bernard, LB, Baylor
148. Khalil Shakir, WR, Boise State
180. Matt Araiza, P, San Diego State
185. Christian Benford, CB, Villanova
209. Luke Tenuta, OT, Virginia Tech
231. Baylon Spector, LB, Clemson

The Buffalo Bills needed to address the secondary early on in this draft class, and they did exactly that by taking Florida’s Kaiir Elam with the 23rd overall pick.

Elam is an outstanding athlete whose stock had slightly cooled off in recent weeks, but he’s undoubtedly a good fit for the Bills and is a seemingly rare prospect in this draft class that is not yet 21 years old. He will be 21 on May 5, but most prospects in this class were 23 or older, it feels like.

James Cook in the second round could muddy the waters for fantasy football players but it just gives the Bills’ offense another dynamic option out of the backfield who can catch passes and play all three downs.

The Kyle Brandt announcement of the Terrel Bernard selection was one of the top moments of the Draft, and Bernard is a good player. He was a highly-productive three-year starter for Baylor.

The Bills were big winners on day three with two selections.

First of all, they got Khalil Shakir, another very underrated receiver to add to their talented skill position group. That selection reminds me so much of their Gabe Davis pick a couple of years ago.

The Bills then turned around at pick 180 and landed a fan favorite in this draft — Matt Araiza, the punt god.
