Most improved team after the 2022 NFL Draft no. 4: Baltimore Ravens

Eric DeCosta shocked the NFL by trading Marquise Brown to the Arizona Cardinals for the No. 23 pick and a third. The move was suspect, given the lack of wideout depth the Ravens have.

However, DeCosta’a’s first pick in the 2022 NFL Draft made things a lot less tense. Kyle Hamilton, a top-five prospect across all big boards, fell to the Ravens at 14. He’s generational safety that will improve one of the best secondaries in the NFL.

With Marcus Peters and Marlon Humphrey returning from injury, who can throw on this secondary?

DeCosta didn’t forget about helping his franchise quarterback. He parlayed that No. 23 pick to the No. 25 for one of the best centers to come out in the last decade, Tyler Linderbaum. The undersized yet anchoring center is an exceptionally athletic player who moves well and will fit perfectly in the read-option offense.

The rich got richer as DeCosta doubled-dow on draft steals by taking Michigan standout  David Ojabo. Before his Pro Day injury, Ojabo was primed to hear his name called inside the Top 20 and the Ravens got him in round two.

The Ravens owned the most picks in the fourth round. With their first pick, they drafted the Senior Bowl standout, Daniel Faalele. He literally stood out as a 6-8 384-pound offensive tackle.

Faalele is a right tackle who can help in the run game thanks to his elite size, power, and anchor ability. He soon added another defensive player, Alabama corner, Jalyn Armour-Davis. He’s a boundary press corner who’ll likely become a starter in a year or two if he develops.

Shortly after, DeCosta double-downed at tight end by taking two guys with distinct skill sets. Iowa’s Charlie Kolar stands at 6-7 with a lean build. He makes his money as a contested catcher.

Isaiah Likely was the better pick thanks to his fluidity, in-line ability, speed, and smooth route running. DeCosta also took a punter, which isn’t a big deal one way or the other, given their plethora of fourth-round picks.
