28. Houston Texans, Davis Mills

RB: Marlon Mack, Dameon Pierce, Rex Burkhead
WR: Brandin Cooks, Phillip Dorsett
WR: Nico Collins, Chris Conley
WR: John Metchie III, DaeSean Hamilton
TE: Brevin Jordan, Pharaoh Brown

I think the Houston Texans should be lower on this list, and you might wonder why I didn’t just put them lower.

After all, this is my list.

I think of the bottom five teams, Houston very easily has the best overall receiver in Brandin Cooks, who got himself a brand-new contract this offseason.

I love the aggressiveness to re-sign Cooks, and while I think you could easily argue a variety of the teams behind Houston to be above them here, I see the direction they are going and I like it.

Nico Collins had a year to learn and I think he’s going to be good in 2022.

John Metchie III is not as dynamic as some of his other Alabama teammates but he was still very productive the last couple of seasons. The Texans moved up to get him in round two of this year’s draft and he’s NFL-ready.

Brevin Jordan was largely considered a steal for the Texans in the 2021 NFL Draft and he lived up to that label with three touchdowns among his 20 catches as a rookie.

The running back trio including veterans Marlon Mack and Rex Burkhead as well as rookie Dameon Pierce (who will be a popular fantasy football pick) is much more interesting than the group the Texans had a year ago.
