AFC South: Alec Pierce, WR, Indianapolis Colts

Without Zach Pascal and TY Hilton, Cincinnati’s Alec Pierce will step into a situation where he’s the No. 2 target behind Michael Pitman Jr. Pierce is the classic boundary wide receiver that Colts need to compliment their offense.

The former Bearcat stands at 6-3 211-pounds. He has 4.4 speed and elite leaping ability, which he put on display with a 40-inch vertical. His stride length, long arms, and body control make him an excellent downfield threat. Matt Ryan doesn’t shy away from targeting rookies, so he’ll see plenty of passes.

Pierce is physical with underrated traits that will help him succeed in his rookie season. With Jonathan Taylor dominating on the ground, Frank Reich and Marcus Brady will use heavy play action — Pierce could become Ryan’s favorite downfield target.

Don’t be surprised if Pierce has over 1,000 yards and close to double digit touchdowns.

NFC South: Chris Olave, WR, New Orleans Saints

Drake London may have been the first wide receiver taken, but Chris Olave was the better prospect and fell into the best situation. Of all the first wide receivers taken on Day 1, Olave has the best quarterback, Jameis Winston.

He’ll come in with a returning Michael Thomas who’ll force defenses to scheme around him. He also has Alvin Kamara, a dominant all-around back that defensive coordinators will pay attention to. With all that said, Olave will see plenty of opportunities opposite Thomas.

Olave is a smooth route runner who wins with nuance. He’s a threat on every level of the field, but he’ll do the most damage downfield. Winston has the arm, confidence, and IQ to get him the ball.

He should top 1,000 yards with over 17 yards per reception. If Thomas isn’t back, Olave can see volume targets where he’d exceed 90 catches.
