7. AFC West sends three teams to the postseason

An earlier prediction had the Denver Broncos knocking off the Kansas City Chiefs as AFC West Champions. The good news for Chiefs fans is that this doesn’t mean their club will miss the playoffs.

Even if the Broncos do end up making good on that prediction, the Chiefs are simply too talented to be sitting at home in January — and despite losing Tyreek Hill, they might be an even better team in 2022.

Kansas City had a great draft which ended with them adding Trent McDuffie and George Karlaftis in Round 1 as well as Skyy Moore in Round 2. Even their addition of Darian Kinnard in the fifth could turn out to be a great move.

They’re also not the only AFC West team that got better in the offseason. The Los Angeles Chargers added Khalil Mack to a defense that already had Joey Bosa and then they beefed up their O-line with the addition of Zion Johnson in the NFL Draft.

Las Vegas also did well by adding Davante Adams but it cams at a cost as they didn’t have a pick until Round 3.

While they will be in the mix for a playoff spot, this prediction is that the Chiefs and Chargers secure two Wild Card spots behind the Broncos — meaning the AFC West sends three teams to the playoffs.

There’s a chance they could secure all the Wild Card spots as well, but there should be at least three playoff teams from this powerhouse division.
