14. Russell Wilson and Broncos knock off Chiefs

For the past six seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs have been dominating the AFC West. They have won the conference every year in that span — and it’s not just because of Patrick Mahomes. In fact, Mahomes didn’t take over until 2018, so the Chiefs had won the previous two seasons before that with Alex Smith as the starting center.

Before that stretch, it was a division that belonged to the Denver Broncos who won the title five seasons in a row — from 2011 (when they were 8-8 with Tim Tebow) through 2015 (when Peyton Manning helped them win a Super Bowl in his final season).

Now, the Broncos enter 2022 looking to become the champs in the West once again. In an effort to make this happen, they landed Russell Wilson in a blockbuster trade with the Seattle Seahawks.

While they surrendered a lot of draft capital — and a solid tight end in Noah Fant — they do still have an explosive offense with Courtland Sutton, Jerry Jeudy, Tim Patrick, Melvin Gordon, and  Javonte Williams.

Denver also has a good defense that just added Randy Gregory to play on the edge across from Bradley Chubb. Add all this up and they should be able to knock the Chiefs off and win their division.
