23. Melvin Gordon, Denver Broncos

2021 stats:

  • 1,131 yards from scrimmage
  • 10 total touchdowns
  • 28 receptions

As Javonte Williams began to emerge for the Denver Broncos last season, Melvin Gordon just continued to provide the team a steady presence offensively.

The Broncos signed Gordon in free agency back in 2020 and that move has paid off for them at least in the form of Gordon’s statistical production and on-field impact.

Gordon has shown the value of having a veteran runner on a mostly young offense, racking up over 1,100 yards from scrimmage and 10 touchdowns in each of his first two seasons with the Broncos.

He has had some issues with fumbles (seven in two seasons with the Broncos) but Gordon has also been one of the only consistent sources of offense in Denver over the last two seasons with 20 total touchdowns.

He returns in 2022 to pair up with Javonte Williams again. Even if Gordon’s role is a bit more limited this season, he should be a big impact on the Broncos’ offense with Russell Wilson at the quarterback position.
