14. David Montgomery, Chicago Bears

2021 stats:

  • 1,150 yards from scrimmage
  • 7 total touchdowns
  • 42 receptions

Help us David Montgomery, you’re our only hope.

The Chicago Bears have never needed David Montgomery to step up as much as they need him to step up in the 2022 season.

The fate of Justin Fields could be riding on how much they can rely on this guy for offensive stability and balance.

Although he had just 1,150 yards from scrimmage last year, we have seen over the past couple of seasons the type of all-around back Montgomery is capable of being.

The biggest questions right now with the Chicago Bears rest with the new offensive scheme, the offensive line play, and of course Justin Fields.

Montgomery can’t be dragging this offense and the line has to be better in front of him, but the potential is there for him to not only have an outstanding contract year with the Bears but also to help Fields’ development in a significant way.

I think Montgomery is going to see a significant uptick in total usage this year.
