7. Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings

2021 stats (13 games):

  • 1,383 yards from scrimmage
  • 6 total touchdowns
  • 34 receptions

The Minnesota Vikings absolutely need Dalvin Cook to stay healthy.

In five NFL seasons, Cook has never played all 16 (or 17) games and that’s pretty reasonable when you consider the position he plays.

I don’t know that anyone expects running backs to play all 17 games these days but if Cook could play 15, he might wind up leading the NFL in yards from scrimmage and total touchdowns.

From 2019-20, Cook had 30 touchdowns in just 28 games played.

This past season, the touchdown numbers were down but Cook’s effectiveness remains.

He is able to average 100 yards from scrimmage easily each game he plays in and has tremendous value on all three downs with the speed to score from 75 yards out just as easily as he can do it from 10 and in.

As a matter of fact, Cook has runs of 66 yards or longer in each of the last four seasons.

He’s simply one of the best, most dynamic running backs in the league right now, and if he’s fully healthy, he is a superstar at the position.
